UNILAG MATRICULATES NEW STUDENTS TODAY

University of Lagos have matriculated a total of 6,604 students at the just concluded matriculation ceremony held at the school's Multi-Purpose hall at the early hours of today.
Present at the ceremony were the Senate Board Members of the University, Faculty Presidents, other Student Leaders and matriculates.

Statically, the Faculty of Science as usual had the highest number of Matriculates summed at 1,089 followed by the Faculties of Business Administration - 1,002, Education - 907, Social Sciences - 879,  Engineering - 675, Arts - 622, Law - 465, College of Medicine 418, Environmental Sciences - 368 and the least Pharmacy - 179.

However, the Vice Chancellor Professor Rahman Bello in his speech earlier at the breakfast orientation program announced that the University have taken back its first position as the best University in Nigeria as rated by 4ICU.com.
He congratulated the fresh students for making the total of the overall 10% that made the final list of admittance into the University and addressed them on the ethics and moral standards on which the school had been built upon advising them to strictly adhere to it while they embark on building their respective careers as students of the most prestigious school.
Addressing the inability of the school to provide hostel for all, he promised that very soon there will be more than enough accommodation to cater for all.

The VC also disclosed that the Student Union Government will return back on campus as University of Lagos Student Union (U.L.S.U) very soon as the new Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Tunde Babawale will see to the electing of first executives probably later in the course of the year.
