Nigerians have criticized the Emir of Kano, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, 53-year old, for agreeing to take a 17-year old girl, Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa as his bride.
It is believed that as an elite that he his, he should not have succumbed to such unethical thing as accepting such a very young girl as bride.
The new bride, Barkindo is the daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu and was said to had been betrothed to the Emir in line with the Islamic injunction which prescribes a maximum of four wives for those who can treat all of them equally.

Nigerians Immediately reacted to the information. But mostly they condemned emir because of the age of the bride.
